The Flawed Followers of Jesus
Jesus called Levi in the middle of his sin, not after it. He isn’t waiting for you to fix yourself before you follow Him.
- Jesus doesn’t call perfect people; He perfects the people He calls.
Following While Flawed (5:27-28)
- Putting ourselves first while others pay the price is a sin we know all too well.
- Jesus calls us as we are, not as we should be.
Inviting While Imperfect (5:29-30)
- If the gospel is good news, it ought to feel like it.
- If you wait until you know everything, you’ll never say anything.
Sought While Sick (5:31-32)
- You won’t be healed if you can’t admit you're sick.
- Jesus doesn’t avoid the sinners; He pursues us.
Test Your Testimony
- Does your story center on what Jesus has done for you, or what you’ve done for Him?
- Who have you invited lately to meet the Christ who changed your life?
- Are you pursuing the lost, or protecting your comfort?
