• The gospel is about what was put to death and what was brought to life.

• Don’t give people what they deserve; give them what you would want.

Exposing the Unremarkable (6:32-34)

• If your love only reaches those who love you back, it’s no different than the world’s.
• Reciprocal love is common; redemptive love is Christian.

Displaying the Unimaginable (6:35-36)

• Jesus did not just preach about loving enemies; He practiced it on the cross.
• Christ didn’t just call us to love our enemies; we were the enemies He loved.
• Only Jesus can turn enemies of God into children of God.
