Letting Go of What Fades

A grateful woman poured out costly perfume for Jesus while religious people questioned her every move. Those who discover the worth of Jesus can release what will never last.

Scripture
Luke 7:36-8:3
  • When you find what lasts forever, you can let go of what fades away.

What Fades

  • Material Possessions – What you spend your treasures on reveals what you treasure most.
  • Past Regrets – Your past may distinguish you, but it does not have to define you.
  • Societal Approval – Don’t accept labels from those who can’t accurately define themselves.

What Lasts

  • Costly Worship – When you realize the worth of Jesus, surrender no longer feels unreasonable.
  • Lasting Forgiveness – Only those who grasp the depth of their sin can appreciate the weight of His forgiveness.
  • Divine Acceptance – The people others count out are often the people Jesus brings near.

  • What are you still holding onto that should have been dropped a long time ago?
