Level Ground

The law humbled every person under the awareness of sin, yet God’s grace was available to all. When we come to the cross of Jesus, we tread on level ground.

Scripture
Galatians 3:23-29

Observations

  • The law was an unbiased jailer — we were all imprisoned by our inability to keep it (3:23).
  • The law locked us all into the same captivity, but faith unlocked the only exit (3:24).
  • Jesus delivered us from a guardian and introduced us to a Father (3:25-26).
  • Baptism highlights the turning point where noticeable change is expected to begin (3:27).
  • Our oneness is not based on ethnicity, status, or gender but on the single way we all approach Jesus (3:28).
  • No second-class citizens exist in the family of God — we all share the same inheritance (3:29).

Applications

  • Since the law put you in prison, it will take faith to get you out.
  • If you see God as a taskmaster instead of a Father, it's time to reset your perspective.
  • Take public steps like baptism seriously; your faith was never meant to hide.
  • The more we observe our diversity, the greater we behold His love.
