Project Theo

“Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught” (Luke 1:1-4, ESV).

Luke wrote his Gospel after carefully researching and recording what God had done so that Theophilus could know Christ and follow Him with certainty. Project Theo is built around that same mission.

The Goal

Our goal is to make disciples who take personal responsibility for Kingdom activity. Through Project Theo, we seek to keep this priority before the church by encouraging people to pray continuously, share the gospel faithfully, celebrate salvation gladly, and invest intentionally in the spiritual growth of others.

With that, Project Theo focuses on four simple steps. First, pray for people in our lives who do not know Christ. This can be a neighbor, a family member, a friend, a coworker, or someone else. Second, share the gospel with people who do not know Christ. Be intentional not only to pray for lost people in your life but also to have gospel-centered conversations with them. Third, celebrate when people come to faith in Christ. Praise the Lord for His grace and mercy in giving you the opportunity to share with lost people and for bringing them from death to life. Fourth, disciple others as they grow in Christ. We are called to make disciples, not converts. This takes place by walking alongside others, teaching them to obey Christ and His commands.

These four steps are not just for a few people. It is an opportunity for each of us to participate in the mission Jesus has given us.

How It Works

We are asking everyone to think about specific people in their lives and place their names on four different colored ping-pong balls that represent different stages of spiritual growth.

⚫ Prayer: Who am I praying for to see the light?

🟢 Share: Who have I shared the gospel with?

⚪ Salvation: Who has come from darkness to light?

🟠 Disciple: Who am I helping grow in their faith?

These will be displayed near the Welcome Center throughout our study of Luke as a reminder to pray, engage, and trust God to work in people's lives.

Join the Mission

Project Theo is more than a display of ping-pong balls. It is a reminder that we are all called to make disciples. As we pray, share, celebrate, and disciple, we trust God to draw people to Himself and transform lives through the gospel.

Let's be a church that prays for the lost, intentionally pursues the lost in gospel-centered conversations, rejoices when people come to faith, and helps others grow as followers of Jesus. Just as Jesus came to seek and to save the lost, we should join in that same mission.
