Each chair in our new sanctuary costs $300. The goal is for every preschooler, child, and student who desires to participate to discover creative ways to earn, save, and give toward purchasing one chair—or even more! After all, that chair isn’t just a seat. The chair could be the place where someone hears about Jesus for the first time, chooses to follow him, decides to be baptized, finds a church family, grows as a disciple, learns to disciple others, or senses God’s call to missions. Every seat is an opportunity for numerous lives to be changed by the gospel.

How “Save a Seat” Works:

  1. Get Inspired - Read the story about how boys in 1915 raised funds for the Church Bell.
  2. Find Your Way - Choose a creative or sacrificial way to earn or save money.
  3. Make a Commitment - Use your commitment card to tell the church how many seats you plan to help purchase.
  4. Fill Your Envelope - Use your “Save a Seat” envelope to collect your money.
  5. Return Your Envelope with $300 - Bring your $300 to church in your “Save a Seat” envelope, and deposit it in an offering box in the sanctuary or vestibule. Your ministry leader will be notified, and your progress will be indicated on a chart in your ministry area.
  6. Keep Giving - (Celebration/Party Symbol) - Start working to save for another seat if the Lord leads you to do so.

Ideas for Family Ministry Participants to Save:

  • Do extra chores around the house.
  • Hold a lemonade or bake sale.
  • Save part of your allowance.
  • Sell things in your home that you no longer need (old Legos/toys, clothes you have outgrown, etc)
  • Skip buying a favorite treat and give that money instead.
  • Wash cars, rake leaves, babysit, or help a neighbor.
  • Give part of your birthday money or ask people to contribute as your birthday gift.
  • Ask family members if they would like to contribute toward your chair.
