Thank you to everyone who joined us for Waypoint on the evening of May 3. These gatherings are always a meaningful opportunity to celebrate what God is doing among us, share important updates, and look ahead together with faith and anticipation.

For those who were unable to attend, I wanted to provide a brief recap of some of the highlights and invite you to continue praying and preparing for what God has ahead for our church.

Moving Forward with M2: Mobilize + Maximize

One of the most significant updates centered around M2 and our plans for a new sanctuary and gathering spaces. We shared updated scope, plans, and features that continue to move us closer than ever to breaking ground.

Our current updated project cost is $18.77 million ($19.4 million including the construction interest). Rising construction costs continue to make timing important, with potential increases of nearly $100K/month if we delay. Currently, we believe the Lord is guiding us to move forward.

The M2 Fundraising Team proposed launching a Capital Campaign in the Fall of 2026 to fund the M2 campus expansion project. This campaign will help us focus on two important goals:

  • Catching the down payment needed to move forward
  • Reducing the debt payment

This fall will mark major milestones in this journey:

  • August — Capital Campaign Launch
  • September 20 — Commitment Sunday

This is more than a building project. Mobilize and Maximize is about making room for ministry, discipleship, and generations still to come.

Ministry That Cares

We also shared updates on Care Communities, an important step in strengthening pastoral care across our church family.

Each Care Community includes a clear care pathway—Gospel Group → Deacon → Pastor. Our goal is simple: no one overlooked, no one uncared for. This enables us to grow larger while caring more deeply.

Strengthening Stewardship and Leadership

We gave updates on our Finance Team and staff alignment, including Barry Formanack stepping into a new Stewardship Director role. Barry is a member of our church family and was already serving in a volunteer capacity with knowledge of our current financial state and where we need to be in the future.

Because of two finance team vacancies, we welcome Jackie Blanton and Tracey Milburn to the finance team. Both were previously nominated and vetted by the deacons to fill those roles.

Our staff roles have also been refined to better support ministry expansion and congregational care. If you have not recently met our team, I encourage you to visit rockycreek.church/our-team to see our current staff alignment.

Planning for the Future

Several additional areas of focus were shared:

Church Health & Governance
A study team has been formed to evaluate the structure and best practices for the long-term health of our church. Any future recommendations will come back to the church family for consideration.

Parking & Access
We are exploring additional exit access and nearby property opportunities to improve traffic flow, create more space, and better serve future growth.

Simplifying Communication
We are moving toward one central communication hub through the Church Center app, making it easier to stay connected to events, resources, giving, and next steps. When you go online to download the Church Center app, make sure you connect with Rocky Creek Church.

Sermons and sermon notes, ballots, summer events, and mission opportunities are already available there. We encourage everyone to make Church Center part of your regular rhythm.

How You Can Respond

As we move toward the M2 Capital Campaign, here are three ways every member can participate now:

1. Give Toward M2 Now

Every gift matters—large or small, whether a one-time gift or a regular, consistent contribution.

Consider giving above and beyond your regular giving as we work to close the gap and prepare for what’s ahead.

2. Pray Intentionally

Please pray for:

  • Wisdom
  • Unity
  • Provision
  • And your own part in this coming campaign

We want this to be a spiritual journey before it is ever a financial one.

3. Stay Engaged

Be part of what’s ahead this summer and fall.

Show up. Serve. Invest. Prepare your heart for what God may do through our church family in this next season.

We’re Building for More Than Ourselves

As I shared Sunday night, this is not simply about buildings—it is about our vision for making disciples who make disciples.

It is about making room for worshipers we have not yet met, disciples not yet formed, families not yet reached, and generations not yet born.

Thank you for your faithfulness, generosity, and shared vision. I’m grateful to walk this road with you.

Let’s keep moving forward together.
