Building for the Next Generation

Every generation has moments when it is called to prepare the way for those who follow. Throughout Rocky Creek's history, faithful members have sacrificed so that future generations could hear the gospel, grow as disciples, and be sent on mission. Today, we have the opportunity to continue that legacy through the M2: Mobilize and Maximize Campaign.

As we embark on the public launch of the campaign this August, we want to keep our church family informed about where the project stands and what the months ahead will look like.

A Clear Picture of the Project

After months of planning and refinement, the current projected cost of the M2 project is $18.77 million (as of May 31, 2026). Including anticipated construction interest, the total capital budget is $19.4 million.

This budget reflects the current scope of the project, including a new 1,144-seat Worship Center, and provides our church with a realistic financial target as we prepare to move forward.

Where We Stand Today

God has already provided (as of March 31, 2026) in remarkable ways.

• More than $3.6 million has already been received toward the project.
• The church has approximately $1 million in reserves that could be used toward the project (according to the finance team)
• Approximately $400,000 has already been invested in planning and pre-construction expenses.
• The church has an estimated $11 million in borrowing capacity.

After accounting for these resources, our immediate funding need is approximately $3.8 million. Long-term commitments will reduce the amount the church ultimately needs to borrow, strengthening our financial position for years to come.

More Than a Building Campaign

While M2 involves a building project, it is ultimately about something much greater. It is about creating space for more people to worship, grow, and be mobilized to make disciples.

We are encouraged by the generosity already demonstrated throughout our church family. Our year-end giving emphasis in 2025 saw nearly 40% of our 500 giving households participate. Even our preschoolers, children, and students have reminded us that everyone can make a difference through initiatives like the "Save a Seat" fundraising initiative.

Our hope is that every person at Rocky Creek will prayerfully participate at some level. While each gift will be unique, sacrifice and joyful participation can unite our church around a common mission.

Planning Wisely for the Future

The Finance Team has worked diligently to ensure that moving forward is both responsible and sustainable.

As part of our long-term strategy:

• The church continues to strengthen the annual operating budget.
• Monthly facility funding has already begun, with $25,000 set aside each month in anticipation of future debt service.
• The Finance Team believes the church can responsibly support approximately $80,000 per month in debt payments if needed.

While leadership is confident in the church's financial ability to manage future debt, every dollar given through the campaign reduces future borrowing and allows more ministry resources to remain available for gospel work.

Why We're Moving Forward Now

Construction costs continue to rise. Current estimates indicate that delaying the project could increase costs by approximately $100,000 every month. Waiting simply means paying more later for the same ministry opportunities.

By moving forward intentionally, our church can steward God's resources wisely while preparing for the ministry opportunities He continues to provide.

What Are the Next Steps?

The church has already decided to move into the next phase of planning by launching the M2 capital campaign and preparing together for future decisions.

The church will also need to:

• authorize borrowing funds,
• approve the start of construction,
• authorize signing a binding construction contract, or
• approve the use of church reserves for construction.

Looking Ahead

The M2 campaign will officially begin this August and continue through December 2028.

• August 16 — Public Campaign Launch
• August 30 — Commitment Cards Available
• September 13 — Giving Emphasis Sunday
• September 20 — Commitment Sunday and First Fruits Offering

Our immediate goal is to raise $3.8 million to move confidently toward construction. Long-term commitments will reduce the amount the church ultimately needs to borrow, strengthening our financial position for years to come.

The M2 Campaign is not simply about constructing a building—it is about preparing Rocky Creek for greater gospel impact in the years ahead. Every generation before us has invested so that we could experience the blessings of this church today. Now it is our opportunity to invest in those who will come after us.

Over the coming weeks, we encourage every member and attender to seek the Lord, ask how He would have you participate, and prepare your heart for Commitment Sunday.

Together, let's pray boldly, prepare faithfully, and commit generously as God continues to mobilize and maximize Rocky Creek Church for His glory and the advance of His Kingdom.
